Brian has extensive senior management experience in transport in both the public and private sectors and has successfully delivered a diverse range of innovative and major change projects in a variety of sectors including health and social care, utilities and higher education. He has been Partnership Director for the South East of Scotland Transport Partnership since 2023 and is leading on the implementation of the SEStran 2035 Regional Transport Strategy (RTS), which was approved by Ministers in March 2023.
Brian is particularly passionate about addressing rural transport poverty, ensuring equitable access to healthcare, and that there is a just transition to a post-carbon transport system. Current priority SEStran projects include development of a Regional Bus Strategy, a Travel to Healthcare Strategy and plan, and Active Travel Behaviour Change. A regional Mass Transit programme is currently being initiated and will coordinate delivery of a number of projects from the RTS Delivery Plan.
