Clare is responsible for all things Transport and Energy within the CCR. This mainly prioritises sustainable transport opportunities, Domestic Retrofit Planning, Renewable Energy and Commercial & Industrial Energy Retrofit planning.

Transport includes from Active Travel to bus priority, park & ride, transport integration, air and Ultra Low Emission Vehicles and targets all transport providers and users.

Chartered in Logistics and Transport and HNC in Civil Engineering, Clare has spent all of her career in the public sector, initially in HMIT, and for the last 26 years, in Local Government, where she has gained significant experience in Transport Policy, preparing local and regional transport plans, delivering transport schemes both locally and regionally, prioritising transport programmes and Chairing various working groups including regional bus, active travel and road safety.

The CCR RTA and City Deal is offering Clare the latest opportunities to lead and inform the transport agenda where rapid change to how the transport network is developed is required, particularly due to COVID and the lifestyle changes seen over the past 2 years. Clare has been working in this role for the past four years and is excited to see where transport and energy moves to in the next few years.

The Energy role is more recent in the last 10 months and Clare is seeking innovative solutions as a response to the Climate Emergency and building better futures, as well as the cost of living crisis that we are currently seeing.
