Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA)

Andrew is the Greater Manchester Portfolio lead for Digital, Work and Skills and Clean Air.

A lifelong Trafford resident, he is the Leader of Trafford Council and has been a local councillor representing Sale Town Centre since 2011.

Andrew’s professional background is in project management, predominantly in civil engineering specialising in supporting delivery of large scale infrastructure programmes. He has also worked on IT transformation projects including at Manchester Airport Group.

In addition to his work as Leader of Trafford Council and on Digital, Work and Skills and Clean Air for the GMCA, Andrew sits on the North West Regional Leaders’ Board, serves on the Board of a local mental health charity and is the Vice President of a Trafford-based youth association. Andrew is also a non-executive director of Trafford Housing Trust and is a member of the LGA Improvement and Innovation Board and the LGA Culture, Tourism and Sport Board.
