I am a currently seconded from Scottish Borders Council into the Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Region Deal, to deliver the Workforce Mobility Project. The project is looking to identify and help deliver long term solutions to transport related barriers to employment, training and education across the region. The main opportunity and focus of the project is to provide new high quality travel demand data, analysis and insight to effectively inform decision making for transport, spatial planning and economic development.
This approach has and is continuing to deliver real improvements to transport services, investment decision making, policy developments and Local Development Planning across the region. This included the current collaborative working with SEStran and regional partners to bring together a new Delivery Plan that links the regional Transport Strategy with the economic ambitions of the region in the Regional Prosperity Framework.
