Having a multidisciplinary background, spanning from mathematics to literature and political sciences, Philippe Vaillant actively tries to answer the challenges that cities are facing, in particular environmental integrity and spatial equality. He started his career as an urban planner for the Paris suburbs and than moved to London to work as a data analyst for the planification and implementation of transport infrastructure. He then worked as a researcher in Seattle for the Urban ecology research lab.
Philippe believes that urban problems are intertwined and that a good knowledge of transport, economic development, ecology, sociology and architecture are necessary to tackle them. His work experiences have encompassed these different dimensions. At OpenDataSoft, the whole team believes that their work for the democratization of access to data and smart services improves the conversation about technology and the everyday life with or without it.
