Steve is responsible for implementing the future transport network for the UK’s second largest city region, commissioning schemes that convert Transport for West Midlands’ ambitious strategies into action on the ground. He is leading the West Midlands’ work to assess options for bus service reform, implementation of Demand Responsive Transport solutions, transition of the region’s bus fleet to be fully zero emission by 2030 and early stage development of the region’s major bus priority programmes.

Earlier in his career Steve spent a decade with Oxfordshire County Council, implementing the Authority’s progressive public transport policies and working in partnership with Highways England and Network Rail on schemes to improve access to Oxford.  Between  2017 and 2020 he was Head of Transport at Milton Keynes Council, acknowledged as one of the UK’s leading cities for transport innovation, ensuring the city’s transport infrastructure is able to accommodate major growth in a sustainable way.
