The BT Active Intelligence team, a unit within BT Digital’s Data & AI Team, was established in 2020 with the aim of accelerating mobility insights based on customer behaviour and movement. Starting as a two-person team, Active Intelligence has grown rapidly thanks to the realisation of the immense power of data.
Our team ingests handset location data from over 24 million handsets on the EE network, processing an astounding 25 billion daily events. We expand our data to represent the entire UK population, ensuring anonymity and aggregation to cohorts of 10+ individuals. This scaled data provides invaluable insights into the physical movements of people across the UK, aiding our clients in solving real-world problems.
Throughout our journey, we’ve achieved significant milestones. We’ve collaborated with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), providing them with data related to Covid-19. We’ve also built our media solution and secured smaller deals that have contributed to our growth.
Our team has developed a robust data platform and various products tailored to our clients’ needs. A noteworthy achievement was our bid for Network Rail which marked our entry into the transport sector.
