Profile
Centre for London is the capital’s dedicated think tank. Our mission is to develop new solutions to London’s critical challenges and advocate for a fair and prosperous global city.
We are a politically independent think tank and a charity.
Founded in 2011 by Ben Rogers, Centre for London helps national and London policymakers think beyond the next election and plan for the future. We have a unique understanding of London’s success as a global city and economic powerhouse, as well as the challenges of maintaining the infrastructure, public services, culture and cohesion on which this success is built.
We have ideas with impact.
Through research and events, we generate bold and creative solutions that improve the city we share.
We are an independent charity and not a membership organisation representing one set of interests, this gives us a unique influence with London and national leaders. Our recommendations have been adopted by businesses, both Conservative and Labour mayors of London and national government.
Over the last 10 years, we have published over 100 policy reports, hosted over 150 public events, five major hustings and nine high-level conferences. And through this work, we’ve engaged thousands of stakeholders across London.
We believe in the power of collaboration.
We bring together people from different parts of the city — with different experience and expertise — to develop new ideas and implement them.
As a charity we rely on the support of our funders.
Our work is funded by a mixture of organisations and individuals who share our vision for a better London. We are hugely grateful for their support and could not have achieved our impact to date without it. We draw on the experience and expertise of our funders and work collaboratively with them to produce the best possible ideas. However, as an independent organisation we retain editorial control over all our work.
Our staff are experts on London.
