Bristol is Open (BiO)/Bristol City Council
Between 2013 and 2014, Bristol City Council was awarded £5.3m funding to develop a ‘research and development test bed’ which was a part of the ‘Gigabit Bristol Programme ‘funded by DCMS/BDUK’s Super- Connected Cities programme. Bristol is Open (BiO) was set up to deliver this test bed as a joint venture between Bristol City Council and the University of Bristol, which has resulted in a Smart City Research and Development network platform of multiple communications technologies installed around the city.

Hull City Council
Hull City Council is the unitary authority for the city of Kingston upon Hull. We provide more than 400 different services to our 260,000 residents and our population is continuing to rise. As Hull begins its journey towards becoming a smart city, Hull City Council has identified a number of key, distinct yet concurrent phases that have to be addressed: development of its own service specific use cases, a single view, analysis and interaction of public sector services, the facilitation of the smart technology infrastructure and management of data security.


Leeds City Council/Smart Leeds
Leeds is the second largest metropolitan district in England, with a population of over 715,000 and covering an area of 552 square kilometres.Leeds City Council delivers over 500 different services to residents and is dedicated to bringing the benefits of a prosperous, vibrant and attractive city to the people of Leeds. OpenDataSoft
Founded in 2011, OpenDataSoft provides a Cloud-based turnkey platform designed for smart and easy transformation of all types of data and APIs into innovative services. Serving as a dual purpose Open Data Portal and Smart City Datahub, the platform makes publishing, sharing, and reusing data easy for all business users. Its SaaS model and extreme scalability enable small, medium and large governments, as well as companies and utilities, to easily open access (privately or publicly) to datasets containing hundreds of millions of rows.

Padam Mobility
Padam Mobility designs and develops smart and dynamic Demand-Responsive Transport solutions using foolproof routing algorithms. Our mobile apps, simulation and management interfaces are tailored to the needs of our customers: Transit Operators, Transport and Local authorities, private companies, in the interest of users and territories.

Transport for the North (TfN)
We are England’s first Sub-national Transport Body. We were formed to transform the transport system across the North of England, providing the infrastructure needed to drive economic growth. Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC)
The Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC) is a research centre that is jointly funded by the ESRC and the University of Glasgow.
