Profile
Since 1988, we have provided innovative and environmentally sound solutions for the waste generated by households and businesses. Over this time, SUEZ recycling and recovery UK has evolved so as to maximise the value recovered from waste materials, while also protecting the environment. We were one of the first organisations to embrace the circular economy. In 2008, we began re-engineering our organisation and the change has accelerated in recent years. We continue to innovate and invest in energy generation and alternative fuels, helping our customers make the transition.
Over the course of a year, we now handle more than 10 million tonnes of waste, serving some 12 million residents and 30,000 business customers.
Our vision is a society where there is no more waste. We believe waste is a resource and our goal is to help create a circular economy in which nearly all waste materials are given a second life and reused, recycled or recovered for their energy content.
SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK’s journey to reinvent itself into a digital company includes three particular transformations that are taking place simultaneously:
1) E-commerce and remote sales are drastically reducing the cost of acquisition for new customers, changing the entire approach to sales and pricing to a data driven model.
2) IoT and advance data analytics are profoundly transforming the way customers approach the management of their waste and materials.
3) Supplier portals and digital exchanges of information are reducing the transaction costs with third parties, and opening new possibilities of partnerships, allowing SUEZ to redefine its position in the value chain.
