Delighted to confirm the addition of Dsposal to our innovator sponsor line-up at WASTE MANAGEMENT Smart Class 2018, which we’re hosting at ODI Leeds’ collaboration and innovation space, “The Gather”, on Wednesday November 28th (8.30am-1.30pm).

Sophie Walker (COO) and Tom Passmore (CEO) co-founded Dsposal in 2016 with a vision to revolutionise the waste industry by using technology to connect waste producers to licensed waste facilities and to simplify compliance. “Waste crime is costing the country hundreds of millions of pounds”, observe Sophie and Tom, “yet research shows that many householders and businesses are unclear that they have a Duty of Care to their waste or how to meet it. Criminals take advantage of this lack of understanding by confusing and misleading waste producers. But what if rather than having to spend time and effort on educating waste producers and then relying on them making the right choice, we could make doing the right thing the easiest option?”. Their joint presentation, entitled “Using Technology to Enable Passive Compliance to Improve Duty of Care”, will explore the idea of passive compliance and ways that technology can be deployed to tackle waste crime by cutting out the illegal operators, simplifying Duty of Care and nudging better behaviour. Sophie and Tom’s presentation will also look at how these initial steps can take us down a road to smart waste tracking and how we can use that data to drive the transition to a Circular Economy.

Those with relevant credentials can apply for one of the last free delegate places by completing the registration form at the bottom of the event page.
