Ines Lopez has been trained by former US Vice President and Nobel Prize laureate Al Gore, and by scientists and other experts, on how to communicate climate change, the issues, risks and solutions available. As a Climate Reality Leader, she’s working with people from all areas of society to deliver actions that would stop global warming, following the principle “Act locally and impact globally”.
Last Wednesday, just a week or so after the Ultra Low Emission Zone replaced the T-Charge in London, we hosted EMISSIONS & AIR QUALITY Smart Class 2019 at Browns Courtrooms, Covent Garden. Whilst Extinction Rebellion embarked on their fourth day of protests at landmarks across the capital, Ines, on behalf of the Climate Reality Project, treated us to a fascinating introduction to the affects of climate change in the UK with special attention to emissions and air quality related impacts. She also outlined a range of innovation opportunities – from low cost sensors and IoT, open and big data, and urban mobility, to new catalytic systems and supporting the roll out of green energy – and highlighted a number of complementary policies, actions and behavioural changes required to address global warming and drive down air pollution in our cities and regions.
