By 2032 Scotland aims to have phased out all new petrol and diesel cars and vans from its streets – eight years ahead of targets set by the UK government. In 2011 Dundee City Council began a journey to transition away from fossil fuelled vehicles, embracing new advancements in electric vehicle technology as part of its solution to improve the city’s air quality. At TRANSPORT Smart Class, Scotland 2019, Fraser Crichton presented the city’s rapid deployment of EV vehicles and infrastructure, highlighting the policy and strategies which have seen Dundee (recently named “the coolest little city in Britain” by GQ Magazine) become one of the most advanced regions of e-mobility in Europe.
