On average, Britain’s road users lost 178 hours to congestion during 2018, costing the UK nearly £8 Billion and equating to £1,317 per driver! Knowing what’s happening on the road network at any given moment, understanding peak traffic flow and evaluating the performance of congestion reducing schemes is a constant challenge. However, innovative changes to the way we can gather road user data for journey time monitoring mean road operators can now monitor their networks quickly and economically. Earlier this month, Clearview Intelligence’s Graham Muspratt and Andrew Rhodes joined us in Bristol for TRANSPORT Smart Class, South West England 2019 and demonstrated how crowdsourced data is transforming our approach to monitoring roads, empowering operators to manage live situations and improve the experience for road users.
