Every large organisation has a massive, free, available transport network, which can be made visible through the collection and sharing of smart phone data. Most organisations are missing the opportunity to collect this data, which, when analysed, debunks the myth of carpooling as an inflexible commuting method. Analysis reveals that 96% of co-workers are being passed by, or are passing, tens, and sometimes hundreds, of co-workers.
At TRANSPORT Smart Class South West England & Wales 2018, Faxi’s CEO and Founder, Tony Lynch, explained how smart, location aware, intelligent transport networks can be generated by harnessing the power of commuters and how connecting co-workers and providing route information in a visible manner enables passengers and drivers to organise transport that suits their needs flexibly and reliably and, in the future, will also allow for on-demand travel.
