On March 5th we hosted TRANSPORT Smart Class, Midlands 2020 at Fazeley Studios in Birmingham. Several “Retrospectives” have already been released from that edition and more will follow over the coming weeks!

Here are the other Transport Smart Classes we’re organising this year for smart aspiring city-regions of the UK:

TRANSPORT Smart Class, Scotland 2020 – The RSE, Edinburgh, 10th September 2020
• TRANSPORT Smart Class, London & South East England 2020 – The Barn at Greencoat Place, London, 13th October 2020
• TRANSPORT Smart Class, North of England 2020 – The Stoller Hall at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, 17th November 2020 (rescheduled from June 9th in light of the current coronavirus situation)

These collaborative, half day (8.30am-1.30pm), knowledge exchange events show key buyer side stakeholders how they can deploy the latest digital technology-enabled solutions, data-driven strategies and best practices to tackle their transport sector challenges (e.g. around congestion, traffic flows, air pollution and emissions, noise, first and last mile mobility, customer experience, cost effectiveness, connecting transport networks, managing and maintaining assets & infrastructure) and deliver a transport system that will allow passengers to travel efficiently, safely and with minimal impact on the environment.

Delegates include commissioning, procurement, trialling and partnering leads, senior influencers, strategic decision makers and planners from progressive city, borough, metropolitan, district and county councils; public and private transport operators/service providers; sub-regional transport bodies, combined authorities, integrated transport authorities and passenger transport executives; DfT and supporting national transport agencies; prime contractors etc.

Core themes at a Transport Smart Class can range from on-demand transport and MaaS applications, EVs and e-mobility, predictive traffic management, journey time monitoring, smart parking and enforcing CAZs and LEZs, to analysing people movements, new ways of visualising data, connected and autonomous vehicles, intelligent street lighting, real-time transport modelling, and smart ticketing and fare collection. Delegates hear from industry movers, shapers and disruptors during initial rapid-fire thought leadership presentations, before moving on to in-depth consultations with experts and peers during the roundtable sessions. These events also feature up to 3 keynote presentations from major buyer side stakeholders giving real world insight into their collaborative initiatives, digital journeys and adoptions of emerging, transformative technologies.

If you’d like to secure a free delegate place at one of the Transport Smart Classes above, please click on the appropriate event link and complete the registration form at the bottom of the page (spaces are limited and subject to satisfying the qualification criteria described).

If you’re an intelligent transport innovator – or your company sources or advises on digital solutions, data insights or smart best practices that can play a key role in helping our buyer side stakeholder delegates to address their transport and mobility challenges – check out our Smart Class Innovation Sponsorship Packages, which (along with a variety of other benefits) enable your speaker to deliver a unique thought leadership presentation and your team of experts to host a series of deeper-dive roundtable consultations with the delegates. If you like what you see and would like to discuss a potential sponsorship commitment for 2020, please contact us here. We also welcome keynote speaker applications from appropriate buyer side stakeholders.

NB. Looking ahead to Q1 of next year: We plan to host a Transport Smart Class for South West England or Wales (either in Bristol or Cardiff) in late January 2021 and will be hosting TRANSPORT Smart Class, Midlands 2021 in Nottingham during the first half of March 2021.

Opportunities to participate as a delegate or showcase innovations and thought leadership as an innovation sponsor are also available for our Emissions & Air Quality, Waste Management, Public Realm & Urban Spaces, Energy, Water Management and Health & Assisted Living editions. As per our recent “Schedule Update” announcement in response to the coronavirus outbreak and existing lockdown (with duty of care to delegates, speakers, sponsors and staff of paramount importance):

EMISSIONS & AIR QUALITY Smart Class, South 2020 (8.30am-1.30pm) and WASTE MANAGEMENT Smart Class 2020 (1.30pm-6.30pm) will still be hosted in central London but on Thursday 10th December instead of April 15th. We’ve secured The Embassy at 19 Grosvenor Place, Belgravia, as our historical new venue for these events!

• To accommodate these reschedulings and that (to Nov 17th) of TRANSPORT Smart Class, North of England 2020, new 2021 dates will be announced further down the line for our PUBLIC REALM & URBAN SPACES, ENERGY and WATER MANAGEMENT Smart Classes and for EMISSIONS & AIR QUALITY Smart Class, Midlands & North.
