SCP is a transportation planning and highway infrastructure consultancy which has been successfully delivering transport solutions to both private and public sector clients for over 30 years.

Formally known as Singleton Clamp and Partners, SCP was formed in 1991. Today SCP employs almost 80 members of staff and has offices in six major UK cities, Leeds, Chelmsford, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Bristol and Manchester. From these six offices, our team provides the full range of transportation planning and highway infrastructure consultancy services to clients throughout the United Kingdom.

Since SCP’s inception, we have helped our clients deliver over 7,500 projects. SCP have worked on a diverse range of projects, planning applications, strategy development and detailed design schemes for clients ranging from Local Authorities to housebuilders, architects/town planners, food retailers, energy companies and many independent developers.

Schemes range in size from area-wide or mode-based strategy and advice; individual dwellings up to large housing estates/urban villages; schools, colleges and universities; wind and solar farms; employment sites, and commercial estates; and many more.

Services

SCP takes pride in its reputation for exceptional service which provide clients with advice and support from the earliest master planning stage, option development, approvals processes, and through the implementation stages.

SCP’s services fall under 3 main sections:

• Strategy and Master Planning – SCP can assist developers and Council’s develop a site or modal strategy and master plan. This will focus delivery on the right outcomes and help reduce risk.
• Transport Planning – All significant developments and transport investment, needs proper planning and design to support delivery and secure planning consent.
• Infrastructure Design – Once planning or a preferred design option is known, delivery of developments and highway schemes, require the design, agreement to and construction of infrastructure.

• Residential – We have helped our clients deliver over 2,000 residential projects, from securing Local Plan allocation, Planning Consent and detailed highway design services and Section 38 approvals.
• Retail – With extensive experience delivering retail projects, SCP has helped many clients address the transportation, highway, and drainage issues impacting both food and non-food retail stores, as well as shopping complexes.
• Commercial & Employment – Our 30 years of expertise includes working on commercial and employment schemes, ranging from smaller office units to multi-purpose industrial parks, including across the office, industry and warehousing sectors.
• Energy – SCP has provided support to clients across the Energy and Renewable Energy Market. This includes the largest off shore windfarms, on shore wind farms, solar farms etc. We have helped clients secure planning consents, and discharge of DCO requirements and planning conditions etc.
• Education & Health Care – Our team have been involved in various Education and Health Care projects across the UK, ranging from nurseries, primary/secondary schools to colleges and universities; from Hospitals to Dental practices and GP and specialist surgeries. SCP has also worked with a number of national and local museums.
• Public Transport – We have expert teams with a particular strength in supporting public transport projects, covering bus and train. This includes Strategy development, and accessibility planning, Bus concessionary reimbursement negotiations, network planning, operator finances, bus service and network planning and procurement, bus partnership and priority measures.
