Paul was appointed Nestrans Director in June 2025, after serving as its Strategy Manager since 2020. Prior to that, Paul has held previous roles in Aberdeenshire Council, and consultancy, taking an interest in appraisal, rural and island transport, economic development and sustainable policy development. He chairs SCOTS Transport Working Group, and supports work bridging Economic Development, Land Use Planning, Health and Transport, and Strategic Transport.
Paul is keen to see how we can develop viable and stronger pathways between our policy intent and delivery, including active travel, and public transport. A current focus is in non-urban areas, where there is heavy car dependence, and associated accessibility, access to health, and related transport poverty issues. Through this work, Paul has a passion to make regional transport work for everyone, making communities more connected and inclusive.
